A first look at Config 2025: Two cities, one global community

This year, we’re bringing Config to San Francisco and London. Here’s a first look at what we’re building for our community on both sides of the Atlantic.

Config, our annual conference for people who build products, is expanding its footprint in 2025 with two events designed to connect and inspire our global community: a three-day summit in San Francisco and—for the first time—a day-long event in London that brings Config’s collaborative energy to Europe.

What to know about our San Francisco event

The action starts May 6, when we kick off the conference at Config Commons, your place to connect with the Config community. This year, we’re taking over the entire block of Howard Street, right outside of Moscone. Swing by to grab your badge and meet fellow attendees.

Across the street, we’re transforming Moscone Center into a bustling hub for makers, with 75+ speakers across 50+ sessions on May 7 and 8. But Config isn’t just about watching talks—it’s about crafting your own experience. Multi-track programming across those two days means you get to choose your own adventure and create a schedule tailored to you. Lock in for a morning of talks, dip out to walk the halls and explore installations, or jam on a project with someone you just met.

We’ve heard your feedback from past events and know that you love those “aha” moments and meaningful conversations that make Config special, so we redesigned how we show up at Moscone to encourage more of them. We’re expanding our Maker Space to feature a dedicated stage where Figma community leaders will showcase their latest work. We’re also rethinking layout to keep you in the flow—from talks to lunch and everything in between.

Speaking of—to make your Config journey seamless from start to finish, we’ve set up multiple check-in locations at partner hotels throughout the city. Pick up your badge at any one of them or at Config Commons. Register to join us in-person in San Francisco or virtually.

London calling

The following week, we’re setting up shop across the Atlantic at London’s ExCel exhibition space on May 14. While in-person tickets have sold out, virtual registration remains open for our curated program featuring more than 15 speakers across 10 sessions. After connecting with our community in Singapore last year, we knew we wanted to bring Config’s collaborative energy to Europe. London—with its rich design heritage and thriving tech scene—emerged as the perfect next destination to connect with Europe’s vibrant product-building community.

Fresh perspectives

Last year at Config, we unveiled Figma AI, UI3, and Figma Slides—tools that changed how teams work together. As we look ahead, our community is grappling with questions about creativity and craft: How do we preserve human intuition in an AI-powered world? What does it mean to design at the intersection of pixels and prompts? This year’s program explores these themes through four key tracks:

A presenter, wearing a casual white shirt with green stripes and tan pants, is enthusiastically speaking on stage. Behind him, there is a large projected screen displaying a retro-style interface of a music player with options like "Artists," "Albums," "Songs," and "Genres" highlighted.A presenter, wearing a casual white shirt with green stripes and tan pants, is enthusiastically speaking on stage. • Design craft: From scaling design systems to reimagining product experiences, explore how teams are evolving their visual foundations. Follow in Marcin Wichary’s footsteps and rediscover what made you fall in love with design in the first place.
  • Dev & code: Step behind the scenes with teams pushing creative boundaries in development. Like Josh Wardle’s journey with Wordle, these sessions reveal how technical constraints can spark creative breakthroughs.
  • Product building & management: Gain frameworks and hard-won insights for shipping thoughtful, impactful work. Think talks like Nan Yu’s “The heirloom tomato org chart” that flip conventional wisdom on its head.
  • Figma deep dives: Level up with practical techniques and tried-and-true workflows that seamlessly blend vision with craft, changing how you bring ideas to life.

For both events, we’re again expanding our language offerings, providing simultaneous interpretation and captioning in French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Latin America and Spain), Dutch, Italian, and Polish.

Where do inspirational leaders find inspiration? Our Config speakers share their favorite talks from 2024, offering up a blueprint for crafting sessions that truly stand out.

Make it yours

Config’s real magic happens when our community takes the reins. Last year, you blew us away with watch parties, local meetups, and creative gatherings worldwide. Starting March 2025, we’re opening submissions for community-led events. Host a watch party, challenge your fellow builders to a pickup basketball game, run a design sprint, organize a group dinner—whatever brings builders together in your corner of the world. We’ll share details on config.figma.com and connect you with other Config enthusiasts in your area.

Join us in building the future

Whether you’re joining us in-person in San Francisco or London, tuning in virtually, or creating your own Config experience locally, this is your invitation to be part of something bigger. Config 2025 isn’t just a conference—it’s a global celebration of the craft, creativity, and community that make product building extraordinary.
