Join the Figma for Education team for introductory and advanced demos to help you ramp up on all things Figma Design and FigJam for your classroom. We’ll walk through setup, collaboration, workflows, and key features, and our Designer Advocate for Education will answer your questions live.

Whether you’re brand new to Figma or want to level up your skillset, there’s an education demo for you! Figma’s professional features are free to use within your classes, and we will show you how to make the most of them.

This workshop is an intermediate level deep-dive into the new features and releases from Config 2024. We will cover an overview of Figma updates and improvements such as Auto Layout, some of the new Ai capabilities, and dig into the brand new Figma Slides!

Jamboard to FigJam: Everything you need to know

Calling all Jamboard users! Join us to learn everything you need to know to successfully move from Jamboard to FigJam. On October 1st, 2024, Jamboard will become ‘view only’ and Jamboard users will need to convert their files in order to save their hard work.

In this session, we’ll cover all the features and tools you’ll need to move successfully from Jamboard to FigJam. That includes:

- How to use the Jamboard importer tool to convert your Jams to FigJams.

- A feature-to-feature comparison to make sure you know where to find all the whiteboard tools you love (and explore some new ones, too!)

- An exploration of some of the new FigJam features that will build on what you’ve already started in Jamboard.

- A quick tutorial on how to get your students into a FigJam file.

- Dedicated question and answer time, to make sure you leave feeling confident and informed.

FigJam is our online ‌whiteboard that facilitates collaboration for any class activity like brainstorming, researching, or making learning visual. Every student is empowered to create and explore on our playful, interactive canvas. FigJam is free to educators, students, and districts.

If you’re ready to bring your FigJam skills to the next level, this session is for you. Building on what you learned in FigJam 101, we’ll dive deeper into FigJam’s features and explore what FigJam can do to support teaching, learning, and engagement in your classroom.

Your First Prototype in Figma

If you’re new to Figma Design, this is the session for you!

A prototype is an interactive tool designers use to visually demonstrate how others will interact with apps and websites. In this session, we will walk through several different methods for creating a prototype in Figma Design. By the end of this session, you will be able to make a basic prototype to test your ideas and share with others.

Auto Layout: Creating responsive components with Auto Layout in Figma (Learning to transform a design from desktop to mobile)

This session is for intermediate users of Figma Design who want to create reusable and responsive components. We go step by step in building out a responsive component, discuss Auto layout for responsiveness, component properties, variables, and modes to make it more flexible and extensible. We will then walk through how developers can view and inspect your components in Dev Mode for a better hand off experience.
