This workshop is an intermediate level deep-dive into the new features and releases from Config 2024. We will cover an overview of Figma updates and improvements such as Auto Layout, some of the new Ai capabilities, and dig into the brand new Figma Slides!

Calling all Jamboard users! Join us to learn everything you need to know to successfully move from Jamboard to FigJam. On October 1st, 2024, Jamboard will become ‘view only’ and Jamboard users will need to convert their files in order to save their hard work.

In this session, we’ll cover all the features and tools you’ll need to move successfully from Jamboard to FigJam. That includes:

- How to use the Jamboard importer tool to convert your Jams to FigJams.

- A feature-to-feature comparison to make sure you know where to find all the whiteboard tools you love (and explore some new ones, too!)

- An exploration of some of the new FigJam features that will build on what you’ve already started in Jamboard.

- A quick tutorial on how to get your students into a FigJam file.

- Dedicated question and answer time, to make sure you leave feeling confident and informed.

Figma for Education and Meher Goel present 'Portfolio to Interview: Crafting a Compelling Case Study Deck'

Unlock the magic of the little details that can help you tell a refined story that truly represents you and your work. In this session, we'll walk through the process of finding your style, knowing your audience, sharing your process, and lastly forming a narrative.

Learn how to use layout grids in a meaningful way to support your designs and structure design elements like type and image. We will cover techniques for designing grids for devices as well as presentation slides across Figma Design and Figma Slides. We will also demonstrate how to effectively use variables when constructing your grids for even greater consistency. It’s all about learning the rules so you know how to break them later!

If you’re new to Figma Design, this is the session for you!

A prototype is an interactive tool designers use to visually demonstrate how others will interact with apps and websites. In this session, we will walk through several different methods for creating a prototype in Figma Design. By the end of this session, you will be able to make a basic prototype to test your ideas and share with others.

This session is for intermediate users of Figma Design who want to create reusable and responsive components. We go step by step in building out a responsive component, discuss Auto layout for responsiveness, component properties, variables, and modes to make it more flexible and extensible. We will then walk through how developers can view and inspect your components in Dev Mode for a better hand off experience.
